Head Coach and General Manager, Brett Wall will be heading into his fourth season with the Hudson Havoc. Over the past two season he has lead the Havoc to a 64-19-4-1 record. The Havoc ended the 2019-2020 with 33 wins, a regular season and playoff Division title, making a National Championship appearance, and six players advancing to NCAA college hockey. In 2009, Brett played one year of Junior A hockey for the Alexandria Blizzard (NAHL) where he received a Division I scholarship to Lake Superior State University (CCHA). At Lake Superior State, Brett completed his degree in Sports Recreation and Management with minor(s) in Business and Sports Marketing. After graduation, Brett played three years of professional hockey between the SPHL (Peoria) and FHL (Dayton) before joining the Hudson Havoc for the 2017-2018 season.
Assistant General Manager, Jim Mitchell will be heading into his third season with the Hudson Havoc. Jim played three years of Junior A hockey between the NAHL (Detroit) and USHL (Waterloo) that earned him a scholarship to Kent State University (CCHA) until the university dropped their hockey team. Jim then transferred to Ferris State University where he completed his college hockey career. He began coaching youth hockey while he was playing Juniors and in college. Since then, Jim has coached a variety of nationally competitive youth teams in Michigan and Southwest Ohio.
Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach, Ryan Davis is entering his third season with the Hudson Havoc. Ryan has been instrumental to the development of the Hudson backend. Ryan played Junior A Hockey for the Soo Indians (NAHL) and the Bismarck Bobcats (AWHL). Then, Ryan attended Nichols College (Dudley, MA/NCAA DIII) where he was voted MVP and selected to the ECAC Northeast Division III-Rookie Team his freshman year. Ryan re-located to South Florida and began his career in goalie coaching for the USPHL and NA3HL. In addition to coaching the Havoc, Ryan is the lead instructor for MEGA goaltending.
Assistant Coach, Tommy Zerse will be heading into his second season with the Hudson Havoc. Prior to joining the Havoc, Tommy spent many years leading youth hockey associations in Minnesota and Wisconsin areas. Tommy has coached mites to bantams, helping many players move onto the high school ranks before entering their junior hockey and college playing careers. In his time coaching at the minor level, Coach Zerse has complied multiple State Titles at the Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam levels.
Director of Player Development, Mike Fazio will be heading into his second season of bringing Havoc players more insight and understanding of detail in skill development through his drills and video analysis. Mike played five years of Junior A hockey where he earned a Division III scholarship to University of Wisconsin - River Falls. After graduating, Mike played two years of professional hockey in the SPHL (Evansville) and ECHL (Wheeling). In addition to coaching the Havoc, Mike works for MAP (Minnesota Advanced Program) and is currently studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Head Scout Northeast Region, Tim Recio is in his first season with the Hudson Havoc and currently coaching the Middlesex Black Bears U18. He previously coached with Gilmour Academy’s Boys Prep Team, and the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite U16. He also served as a lead instructor for Dynamic Defensemen, Battle Camp, Adult Learn to Play and DI Defense Camp for Pittsburg Penguins UPMC Rinks. In high school, Recio was an all-league honorable mention player at Brooks School before continuing his playing career at University of Massachusetts Boston, serving as an alternate captain for two seasons before transferring to Suffolk University. There he earned a bachelor’s degree in History. He went from there to play professionally in the ECHL (Elmira Jackals and Fayetteville Fire Antz).
Head Scout Central Region, Zach Loesch will enter his second season with the Hudson Havoc and currently Head Coach of the Chicago Jets Bantam 1 team. The White Bear Lake, Minn., native spent the 2016-17 season playing for the SPHL’s Pensacola Ice Flyers and Columbus Cottonmouths — producing 3 goals and 18 assists in 47 games. He also appeared in an American Hockey League preseason game with the Chicago Wolves in 2016. Prior to turning pro, Loesch played for four years of NCAA Division I at Lake Superior State University in the WCHA (2012-16) and earned a Marketing degree with minors in International Business and Sports Marketing. During his college career, he spent time in prospect camps with the Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals.
Head Scout Southeast Region, Patrick grew up playing youth hockey in Hamilton, Ohio. He then played Midget AAA for the Indianapolis Checkers, Junior (CSHL) for the Queen City Steam, and College (ACHA) at the University of Central Oklahoma. After graduating from Central Oklahoma, he spent 2 years at Miami University (OH) working with youth and collegiate players. From there, Patrick worked with Total Package Hockey as Director of Program Development (Cincinnati, OH/Lexington, KY). During his time with TPH, Patrick coached at the U10/U15/18U AAA levels. Patrick moved to Nashville, TN after being hired by the Nashville Predators as the Hockey Operation Coordinator for youth programming. He continues to coach in the Greater Nashville area helping out with several youth programs.
Head Scout Rocky Mountain Region, Mike Henderson is in his first season with the Hudson Havoc. Mike played three years of Junior hockey between the USHL, BCHL, and NAHL. He then earned himself a NCAA Division I commitment to Army West Point of the Atlantic Hockey Association. Following his college career, Mike went on to play professional hockey for three seasons with teams in the ECHL, SPHL, and FHL. Henderson currently resides in Denver, Colorado and has been involved in coaching and skill development for youth programs with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Air Force Academy Sports Camps, Planet Hockey, and the Colorado Rampage. Mike is currently a member of the USHL Player Safety Committee in conjunction with USA Hockey's Officiating Development Program.
Michigan Scout, Brad is starting his first season with the Hudson Havoc. The Davisburg, MI native played nine years of professional hockey in the ECHL, IHL, CHL, FHL, and SPHL. Townsend currently runs and operates Townsend Hockey which is a skill development company that works with elite youth, Junior A, major junior, college, and professional players. Prior to playing professional hockey, Brad won the Central Junior A Hockey League Championship with the Pembroke Lumberkings in 2007. They also, won the Eastern Canadian National championship in St Jerome, Quebec, and Placed 3rd in the Nation in the Royal Bank cup (National Junior "A" Championship) in Prince George, BC, CA.
Minnesota Scout, Jeff Smith is entering his first season with the Hudson Havoc. Jeff is located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and is responsible for the development of multiple players who have gone on to excel at the Minnesota State High School League and stand out in the Upper Midwest HS Elite Hockey League.
Prior to arriving in Minnesota, Jeff assisted in coaching and building multiple nationally recognized youth AAA teams in USA Hockey’s MidAm, and South East Districts.
Strength and Conditioning Coach, Lucas grew up on a small family farm in Iowa where he learned the importance of hard work, dedication and a supportive family in reaching his goals. Through high school athletics, college and his time in Air Force he realized that setting goals - along with the principles he learned growing up on a farm - were the keys to success in all aspects of life. He poured his experiences and beliefs into the culture at CrossFit St. Croix (C1 Athletics) and is proud that he can offer such a supportive environment for our team.
Strength and Conditioning Coach, Brent is originally from North Carolina, graduating from East Carolina University with a B.S. as a Health Fitness Specialist. He found his love for strength and conditioning during his seven years on the football coaching staff at Rose High School. Brent is excited for the future, and looks forward to helping our team reach every goal we've set out to achieve.
Yoga Instructor, Joe has been practicing yoga for almost a decade, earned his yoga teaching certificate through a 200-hour intensive teacher training in 2015 and has been teaching ever since. Joe loves how yoga and strength and conditioning training complement each other to provide a very complete fitness regimen.
